For over 20 years I have been going to (now the former property of) city hall in Mountlake Terrace on the first Thursday in May, which is the National Day of Prayer.
We’ve had some very large turnouts some years. Last year I was alone.
On this day, prayer goes out all over our nation, all hours of the day. Our traditional time is noon to 1 p.m.
We pray for our leaders: federal, state and local. From the president to mayors. From police and firefighters to teachers, etc.
I encourage people to find a National Day of Prayer gathering to pray with. I’ll be by the Mountlake Terrace library at 3300 58th Avenue W. Join me?
