Prep boys track: Shoreline Invitational

SHORELINE — Fifty-six high schools, including several from Wesco and the Cascade Conference, met Saturday at the Shoreline Inivitational at Shoreline Stadium.

Jackson High School finished second overall in the team standings with a score of 42.5, just behind leader Wenatchee’s 55.5. Shorewood placed ninth overall with a score of 25 and Lynnwood finished eleventh with a 22.

Jackson’s Keynan Foster took first overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75 seconds — just ahead of O’Dea’s Myles Gaskin, a University of Washington football signee. Gaskin’s time was 10.82 seconds.

Shorewood also had a pair of winners. Devan Kirk took first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.46. Chris Diaz, who was named Track Athlete of the Meet, recorded a time of 14.20, which was good enough for first in the 110-meter hurdles.

Mariner’s Jordan Scarborough took home first-place honors in the triple jump with a leap of 45 feet, 1 inch. Edmonds-Woodway’s Grant Whitcutt finished in a tie for second place in the high jump at 6-4.

Lynnwood and Cascade each placed first in the sprint medley relay and the distance medley relay, respectively.

Bishop Blanchet’s Zach Shugart won the Field Athlete Award.
