Boeing lands order for 3 more 777s

Boeing has finalized an order for three 777-300ERs with the Lufthansa Group and Swiss International Air Lines.

At list price, the deal is valued at $990 million. However, the actual sales price is often negotiated down.

Boeing faces pricing pressure as it tries to get enough 777 orders to keep the airplane’s final assembly line in Everett busy until after its successor, the 777X enters into service in 2020.

The new airplanes will be the backbone of Swiss’s renewal of its long-haul fleet, according to a press release from Boeing.

The airline is part of the Lufthansa Group.
