The WHL bantam draft, which this year enters the new millennium as it disperses players born in 2000 among the WHL’s 22 teams, takes place Thursday.
This will be a new experience for the Tips, who for the first time in franchise history enter the draft without a first-round pick (the Tips didn’t pick in the first round in 2010, but only after trading out of the first round during the draft) because of the Nikita Scherbak trade.
By my reckoning, which isn’t necessarily fully accurate, Everett has no first rounder, two fourth rounders, two fifth rounders and two sixth rounders, with their own pick in every other round. Therefore, although the Tips are lacking in quality picks, they have plenty of quantity in the middle rounds.
So what do you think Everett’s priority should be on draft day?
