Sno-Isle hires business, strategic relations librarians

Sno-Isle Libraries has announced that Susan Hempstead has joined the library district as a strategic relations manager and Kassy Rodeheaver has joined as lead librarian for business. Hempstead is responsible for implementing Sno-Isle Libraries’ connected communities strategy, government relations outreach, community partnerships and volunteer programs. Rodeheaver will focus on entrepreneur and small business support and outreach to increase awareness of Sno-Isle’s business support programs.

Darrington/Arlington win $50,000 in competition

The community of Darrington/Arlington advanced past the first round and will receive $50,000 in the America’s Best Communities competition, a $10 million initiative to stimulate economic revitalization in small towns and cities. It is among the 50 quarterfinalist communities that now have six months to complete their revitalization plans and compete for up to an additional $3 million to bring their ideas to life. The competitions sponsors include Frontier Communications.

Tax workshop for businesses planned in Lynnwood
