LYNNWOOD — A bomb squad was called after a live explosive device was found in Lynnwood late Monday morning.
The device was found about 11:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 5200 block of 168th Street SW, according to a Lynnwood police press release.
The device had “some type of a fuse and was described as having the appearance of dynamite,” Cmdr. Jim Nelson said.
It was collected and dismantled by police shortly before 3 p.m. The area was reopened after a lengthy evacuation order, which included a lockdown at nearby Beverly Elementary School.
The device had been left in the garage by a former tenant of the 30-unit complex, Nelson said.
The investigation continues.
