CHEHALIS — A Lewis County woman has pleaded guilty to reduced charges in the October death of a toddler who was in her care.
The Columbian reported that Brenda Wing had previously pleaded not guilty to homicide by abuse and first-degree manslaughter. But she pleaded guilty this week to first degree manslaughter with a domestic violence enhancement and a child abuse enhancement.
The toddler’s mother, Kikki Warner of Vancouver, had left the 3-year-old with Brenda and Danny Wing while she looked for a job and quit using drugs. An autopsy showed the boy suffered extensive abuse before his death.
Danny Wing pleaded guilty in March to first-degree manslaughter. His sentencing is set for August.
No date has been set for Brenda Wing’s sentencing.
