CLE ELUM — All computers and phones at the U.S. Forest Service’s Cle Elum Ranger District Office are unusable after they were damaged in a lightning storm.
KOMO-TV reported that repair parts have been ordered but they won’t arrive until early next week. That means the office won’t be able to perform normal services for the public until late Monday or Tuesday.
Forest Service spokeswoman Robin DeMario says anyone wishing to obtain woodcutting, commercial mushroom or other permits will need to get them at other sites.
She says firewood permits and Northwest Forest Passes are sold at the Cle Elum Visitor Center in Cle Elum. All other permits must be purchased at other national forest offices.
The lightning storm struck on Wednesday.
