EVERETT— A Seattle man, 55, was struck and killed while he was standing in a lane of traffic on I-5 early Sunday.
George Dlouhy was hit by a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound around 2:41 a.m. in Everett, the Washington State Patrol said. Two other cars hit him as he was lying in the road. He died at the scene.
The driver of the Corolla, an Everett man, 26, was injured but released at the scene. His passengers a man, 23, and a girl, 17, both of Bothell, were not hurt.
The other drivers, a Lynnwood man, 65, and a Bothell woman, 38, were not injured.
The two passengers in the Bothell woman’s car were also not hurt. They were both women from Bothell.
The accident blocked all southbound lanes until about 7 a.m.
Troopers are investigating. As of Sunday afternoon it was unknown why the man had been standing in the road.
