LYNNWOOD — Taste real food. Grow it. Cook it.
That’s what organizers of the fourth annual Celebration of Food Festival want people to experience and learn at the free, family event, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 at Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.
Food Revolution Snohomish County, a movement aimed at encouraging people to grow, cook and eat good food, offers free food samples, educational presentations, cooking demonstrations, and a chance to meet county farmers and talk with local and regional food vendors.
In addition, there will be a hands-on kids’ cooking and kitchen-skills station, as well as a children’s story tent and book giveaway.
Bastyr Center for Natural Health and Washington State University Snohomish County Extension will host presentations on eating seasonally, food allergies, one-pot meals, gardening with kids, starting seeds at home, how to shop at a farmers market and more.
