SULTAN — Sultan received big nights from its team captains Shelby Jeffries and Bethany Kirkpatrick as the Lady Turks took down La Conner in a non-league softball game on Wednesday.
Jeffries struck out 15 in a shutout and went 61/3 innings before surrendering a hit. The junior also went 1-for-2 at the dish with two RBI and two walks.
Kirkpatrick, a sophomore catcher, doubled, drove in two runs, scored once, walked, and stole two bases for Sultan. Senior first baseman Belle Ellis went 4-for-4 with an RBI in her last home game for the Lady Turks, junior third baseman Alison Fulcher went 2-for-3 with a run scored, and senior outfielder Olivia Gasseldorfer drove in a run.
