Meadowdale kicker Brett Schafer has committed to play football at Washington State University this fall. Schafer will join the team as a preferred walk-on, meaning he is guaranteed a roster spot, but will not receive an athletic scholarship.
“It feels great committing to WSU,” Schafer said. “I’m excited to be able to play for a college program. I expect it will be challenging, but I’m ready to compete as a Pac-12 player.”
Schafer said WSU special teams coach Eric Mele has been his main contact with the team and has told him he will have an opportunity to compete to be a starter when practice begins.
