On May 8, the writer of the letter, “Preventive action: Fund education,” reprimanded any parent who would dare to complain that the “schools are not providing free child care on teacher walkout days.” Obviously, you parents should have had the foresight to have jobs that enable you to walk off your job and not only keep your job, but still get paid.
As long as I can remember, we’ve been told the schools don’t have any money, we build schools that look like corporate headquarters and are told, “If only we had more money we could teach them how to read.”
Perhaps the teachers who feel underpaid should have checked how much teachers get paid beforehand.
