The season for sockeye, summer chinook and steelhead on the lower mainstem Columbia from the Astoria Bridge upstream to Bonneville Dam has been announced by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife. The season runs June 16 through July 6 and allows retention of two adult fish; any combination of two sockeye, hatchery steelhead or hatchery chinook.

MORE SALMON ALLOWED IN COLUMBIA TRIBS: The state has increased the limits on spring chinook in the following Columbia tributaries: Cowlitz, limit increased to 3 adult hatchery springers, and two rods now allowed from the barrier dam downstream with a two-rod endorsement; Kalama, increase in limit to 2 springers; Wind River, increase to 3 springers; and Drano Lake, increease to 3 springers.
