SEATTLE — An Everett man who supplied highly pure methamphetamine to a drug trafficking organization in Western Washington was sentenced in federal court Friday to seven years in prison.
Jaime Araujo, 27, provided the meth to drug dealers in Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish counties. He was arrested in March 2014 following a lengthy wiretap investigation of heroin and methamphetamine trafficking.
Law officers recovered methamphetamine and more than $15,000 in cash from his home. They also found evidence of money being wired to Mexico.
At sentencing, U.S. District Judge Robert S. Lasnik said Araujo “had a serious part in a drug trafficking organization wreaking havoc in the community.”
Even during his incarceration at the Federal Detention Center at SeaTac, Araujo made recorded telephone calls attempting to control his drug operation.
The case was investigated by many federal and local agencies, including the Snohomish Regional Drug and Gang Task Force.
