SEATTLE — Seattle police say that when officers entered a bank robbery suspect’s home after a lengthy standoff, they found him dead of apparently self-inflicted wounds.
Detective Drew Fowler said detectives went to the home Thursday morning to arrest the man on a warrant related to a February bank robbery in north Seattle. They knocked on his door and spoke briefly with the man but he stayed in the home and refused to surrender.
Police negotiators got no response. At about 3 p.m. SWAT officers entered the home and found the man. Police called for medics, who declared him dead. The man’s name was not immediately released.
The King County medical examiner will determine a cause of death. Police are also investigating the death.
