SEDRO-WOOLLEY — Granite Falls defeated Sehome in the 2A District Softball Tournament on Friday to secure the No. 3 seed in the state tournament. The Tigers clinched a state spot earlier in the day with a win over Cascade Conference foe Archbishop Murphy.
Senior outfielder Hailey Teter led the Tigers’ offense against Sehome, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base. Senior second baseman Mikayla Engstrom doubled, junior utility player Kelsey Bechtholdt singled in a run, sophomore third baseman Taylor Arndt scored two runs, and senior infielder Lauren Harding also scored.
Dannica West pitched six innings and Harding came in to pitch a clean final frame for the save,
Sehome is also headed to the state tournament as the No. 4 seed.
