ENUMCLAW — A hospital spokeswoman said one of two boys seriously injured in an explosion outside a home in Enumclaw is in critical condition.
Susan Gregg of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle said on Saturday afternoon the second boy injured on Friday is in satisfactory condition.
A fire official says the boys apparently were using gasoline at a campfire. KCPQ-TV reported that King County Fire District 28 Chief Randy Fehr said a 10-year-old boy suffered burns over 80 percent of his body Friday afternoon. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Fehr says the second boy, who is 9 years old, suffered burns to less than 10 percent of his body. He was taken to Harborview by medics.
The sheriff’s spokesman says detectives are investigating the case as a tragic accident.
