Free chips for Mukilteo dogs, cats: The Mukilteo Police Department plans a free pet microchipping event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 13. The offer applies to the first 50 city residents who bring in dogs or cats.
The chips are useful if animals get lost, officer Colt Davis said. Local veterinarians are helping with the event.
Chips usually run about $100, plus a $18 registration fee. Proof of address is required, such as a driver’s license or utility bill.
Donations of pet food and supplies are welcome. They will go to the Mukilteo Food Bank. Cats must be in a carrier and dogs must be on a leash.
