PULLMAN — A Pullman man charged with killing his father contends he struck his father in the head with a kitchen pot in self-defense after the older man attacked him with a knife.
Officials have charged 24-year-old Erik Luden with first-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Virgil Luden of Sammamish.
The Spokesman-Review reported Virgil Luden was found lying on the floor of a Pullman apartment on Saturday afternoon.
In court documents, Erik Luden contends his father attacked him.
Pullman police say they have not identified a motive for the slaying.
Erik Luden is being held in the Whitman County Jail.
