TACOMA — The City Council in Tacoma, Washington, has voted to buy the 122-year-old Old City Hall for $4 million, plus closing costs.
The News Tribune reported the council vote Tuesday to purchase the historic building on Commerce Street was 8-0.
An appraiser hired by the city valued the building in March at $1.6 million.
City officials say it’s part of Tacoma’s history so they were willing to pay more.
