SEABECK — The Kitsap Humane Society is seeking information about a pit bull mix found tied to a tree and shot to death.
The Kitsap Sun reports that hikers found the male dog Monday afternoon on a trail near Seabeck, a town along the Hood Canal. It had been shot between the eyes.
The dog is estimated to be between 5 and 8 years old, tan-colored with cropped ears. It was wearing a blue harness and pink leash. The dog had no tags or microchip.
Humane Society spokeswoman Keren Matthee says the dog will be taken to the Humane Society to be examined.
Those with information can call Animal Control Officer Chase Connolly at 360-692-6977, ext. 1208.
