Free boating safety seminar is on Thursday

There will be a free boating seminar from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, in the Harbor Marine Conference Room, 1032 W. Marine Dr., Everett.

The course, called Partner in Command, is offered by the Everett Sail &Power Squadron. The course is an introduction to boating for crew members who need basic information but may or may not have taken a boating course. It will teach how to help a captain safely operate a recreational boat. Captains are also welcome to attend.

The seminar will cover a variety of topics, including how to respond to emergencies and essential knots.

The seminar is free, but the student text ($20) and a knot-tying board ($5) are available for purchase, cash only.
