Hockey Canada announced the rosters for its summer development camps Tuesday, and three Silvertips were among those who received the call.
Defenseman Noah Juulsen was invited for the U-20 team. Juulsen, who’s coming off an excellent season and who is preparing for the possibility of being selected in the first round of the NHL draft this weekend, is one of 13 defensemen on the roster, as well as one of just three born in 1997 (the rest are 96s).
Goaltender Carter Hart, who led the WHL in goals against average as a 16-year-old rookie last season, was invited for the U-18 team. He is one of four goalies on the roster, all born in 1998.
Defenseman Jantzen Leslie, Everett’s first-round pick in the 2014 bantam draft who showed well as a 15-year-old call-up last season, was invited for the U-17 team. He is one of 36 defensemen on the roster, which is comprised strictly of 1999-born players.
The camps are July 29-Aug. 6 in Calgary.
