Three years ago, I went to Bellingham with some friends to see one of my favorite local bands, Hot Bodies In Motion. They were opening for a San Francisco band called The Stone Foxes. None of us had heard of the headliner, so we talked about taking off early. Fortunately someone suggested we stick around for at least one song from this other band.
What happened next was one of the most engaging, exciting and fun club shows I’ve ever attended. Since then I’ve hoped to see The Stone Foxes again, never thinking it would happen in my hometown of Everett. Next week that’s exactly what’s happening.
The Stone Foxes will be making at stop at The Cannery in downtown Everett July 2 on their current summer tour. Here’s a few reasons not to miss the show:
Reason 1: Never pass up the chance to see a band like The Stone Foxes in a small, intimate setting like The Cannery. These guys are getting more and more popular every day and with their new album coming out later this summer their shows are just going to keep getting bigger. They already headline huge blues festivals and sell out club shows all over the country.
Reason 2: Speaking of their new album, The Stone Foxes will release “12 Spells” Aug. 7. In April the band released the first single from “12 Spells,” “Dying Star” and it’s great. It’s so good you won’t want to wait another month to hear the rest of the album, so come out and see them play it live Thursday.
Reason 3: Choir of Crickets. This Everett band has quickly become one of the biggest draws in town and they always bring out a rowdy crowd. Since their set at the Fisherman’s Village Music Festival back in May, Choir of Crickets have been hard at work on some new tunes of their own that they are finally ready to share.
