Survey director hired at Reid Middleton
Everett-based engineering, planning and surveying firm Reid Middleton has hired Jim Purkey as survey director for its Everett office. Purkey is a project manager and registered professional land surveyor with 38 years’ experience in civil engineering, survey projects and strategic business operations. He comes to Reid Middleton from Worley Parsons.
Leadership Snohomish County receives donation to promote women leadership
Women’s Funding Alliance has funded a request from Leadership Snohomish County in the amount of $19,300 to provide scholarships, enhance curriculum and conduct a needs assessment regarding women’s leadership in Snohomish County. Leadership Snohomish County will work with business, government, and nonprofit partners to implement this initiative during the program year.
Applebee’s kicks off fundraiser for pediatric cancer research
A longtime supporter of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill &Bar will kick off a month-long fundraiser for the organization beginning Monday. This marks the 11th consecutive year that franchisees have come together to support pediatric cancer research. Fundraising efforts vary by restaurant and include a variety of events.
Columnist, consumer advocate to appear on radio show
KSER 90.7 FM and KXIR 89.9 FM’s monthly personal finance show “Getting Your Dough To Rise,” hosted by Chuck Noel, will feature Herald economist James McCusker, president of Puget Sound Consumers’ Checkbook Robert Krughoff and owner of The Coin Market in Lynnwood George Marley. This show airs from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Kids ‘N Us Early Learning Academy celebrates Marysville opening
Kids ‘N Us Early Learning Academy celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Marysville on Saturday. The Mill Creek-based Early Childhood Education facility moved from its existing building at 9315 State Ave. to the new school at 12017 State Ave. Kids ‘N Us has five locations in the north Puget Sound.
