EUGENE, Ore. — Police in Eugene, Oregon, say fire has engulfed the city’s Civic Stadium and nearby structures are at risk.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin said Monday evening that police are urging people within a two-block radius to evacuate.
The Register-Guard reported that the grandstands and the rest of the stadium were in flames. Dozens of firefighters were attacking the blaze.
Smoke from the fire was visible throughout the Willamette Valley city.
Eugene is about 100 miles south of Portland.
