Sort your trash at Monroe parks: Monroe will receive and install six recycling bins designed specifically for placement at key city park locations including Lake Tye Park and Skykomish River Park.
They are labelled and designed for cans/bottles and have a 45 gallon capacity.
The project is one of 89 recycling initiatives receiving support from the Coca-Cola/Keep America Beautiful Recycling Bin Grant Program. Nationwide, the grant program is providing 5,300 recycling bins to colleges and universities, nonprofits, local governments and other community groups in 2015.
Watch the waterball: Firefighters plan a waterball display at 2:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July in Edmonds.
Waterball is “using a fire hose to blast water at a ball suspended on a long overhead cable,” Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said. “The first team to push the ball over to the opposing team’s side wins.”
The free event is at City Park, 600 Third Avenue S.
