Larsen looking out for business

As chief of staff of Electroimpact, a manufacturer in Mukilteo that builds automation and tooling systems for aircraft assembly, I wanted to publicly thank U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen for supporting policies that help small and medium-sized businesses like Electroimpact grow. Last week Rep. Larsen stood strong in the face of opposition to vote for Trade Promotion Authority, the policy that will raise the standards of future trade agreements. With up to 80 percent of our sales going to overseas customers, new trade agreements that break down barriers in foreign countries and put our products on a level playing field are critical to our success.

In addition, the Export-Import Bank, the program that finances U.S. exports, is set to expire at the end of the month, and Rep. Larsen has been an outspoken supporter of this important program as well. We’d like to thank Rep. Larsen for recognizing the importance of trade to the vitality of our region and for demonstrating exceptional leadership on policies like TPA and Ex-Im Bank that increase the global competitiveness of Washington state workers and businesses.
