The annual Washington State Cross Country East/West All-Star race is set for July 11 at the Mill Creek Town Center in conjunction with the Run of the Mill 5K, which will be run at the same site.
In order to be invited to participate in the race for both boys and girls, runners must have one of the top 125 times among seniors in all classifications at the 2014 state cross country meet.
Local boys invited to participate are: Jackson’s Aaron Roe, Oak Harbor’s John Rodeheffer, Edmonds-Woodway’s Miler Haller, Snohomish’s Brad Hodkinson, Lakewood’s Douglas Davis, Andrew Ayers of King’s High School, Shorewood’s Andrew Christianson, Glacier Peak’s James Horne, Brandon Stickney of King’s, Glacier Peak’s Isaac Ripley, Arthur Emmons of King’s and Jackson’s Brandon Yee.
Local girls invited to participate are: Jackson’s Brooke Kingma, Oak Harbor’s Jonalynn Horn, Snohomish’s Bri Gibson, Shorecrest’s Gigi Vujovich, Glacier Peak’s Katherine Dittmann, Everett’s Drew Williams, Arlington’s Shanelle Shirey and Cassidy Rude, Snohomish’s Ciara Benson and Callie Dahlberg and Glacier Peak’s Haley Longstreth.
Several scholarships will be awarded at the race to those athletes who have excelled in academics, school and community service and displayed sportsmanship and integrity while participating in cross country.
