It’s summertime and the living is easy. So, too, is the fashion. One of our fave looks for summer: shirt dresses. Here are five shirt dresses perfect for summer and the summer-to-fall transition. For an instant outfit, just add a pair of tennis shoes or sandals.

Tee up! Everything about this dress shouts summer. We’re imagining this lightweight, bright “limon” scoop neck T-shirt paired with a colorful arm party of bracelets and a fedora. With this shirt dress, you’ll get the comfort of a T-shirt combined with the fancy factor of a dress. Slub T-shirt Dress, $39.99, gap.com

Touch of lace. For a sweet spin on the usually sultry LBD, this black shirt dress captured our eye with lace detailing at the sleeves and along the front. The fit-and-flare style is flattering, and, come fall, this dress could be easily warmed up with a cardigan or denim jacket layered on top. Trinette Shirtdress, $148, anthropologie.com

Work wear. Getting dressed for the office in the summer can be a challenge — striking the right balance between professional, yet comfortable. In a pretty poppy color, this shirt dress comes to the rescue. The pointed collar, surplice neckline and button flap pockets add a professional polish. The wrap style with a pleated skirt is known for flattering all figures. Michael Kors Cotton Poplin Shirt Wrap Dress, $160, nordstrom.com

Ruched T-shirt dress. Comfy, meet glam. The ruching on this gray striped T-shirt dress is completely unexpected and stylish. If you’re a fan of the minimalist look that’s currently trending, this dress is simple and sophisticated and is so “right-now.” Apt. 9 Ruched T-shirt Dress, on sale $19.99, kohls.com

Abstract. Abstract prints like the ones on this long-sleeve shirt dress are having a major fashion moment. We’re color crushing on the bright hues in this pretty dress, too. With such big and bold patterns, and bright colors, pair this shirt dress with some neutral heels and minimal accessories for a gorgeous night-out look.
