Applaud: Student work on display
See what Everett School District students are learning at an Innovation Expo, set for 5 to 8 p.m. June 6 at Xfinity Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
You will find the traditional STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects represented as well as art, music, literacy, fitness and assistive technology (for students with special needs).
A STEM competition for fourth- and fifth-graders and middle-schoolers will be judged at 5 p.m., with an awards presentation at 6:45 p.m.
University of Washington professor Brian Fabien, who oversees the EcoCar3 project, is slated to speak at 7:30.
There also will be interactive and hands-on display from local community and industry groups.

Exchange: Get a new U.S. flag
Turn in your worn U.S. flag and get a new flag in time for Flag Day through an Everett business’ annual patriotic offer next week.
The free exchange is available during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 6-10, at McClain Insurance Services, 10410 19th Ave. SE, Suite 100, Everett. Flag Day is June 14.
New flags are American-made. Retired flags will be ceremonially disposed of by local Boy Scouts.

Teach: Marysville seeks local talent
Marysville Parks, Culture and Recreation’s Ken Baxter Community Center seeks independent contract pay instructors to teach classes for its fall and winter sessions (September–December). Classes can be ongoing sessions, one-day classes or short workshops.
Proposed subjects may be in art, crafts, education, workshops, business, trade, fitness or other topics where you can share your skills and talents to others.

Celebrate: Sustainamania
Sustainamania, Bothell Public Works’ free annual family event, runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 4 at the Bothell Operations Center, 21233 20th Ave. SE.
Learn more about sustainable resources. Tour the new wetland. There also will be food activities, live music, plants, a touch-a-truck event and more. Get there early and score free Chinook Books and compost.

Dash: Fun run coming up
The Camano Center’s annual Crab Dash, a 5K and 10K family fun run, is set for 9 a.m. June 11, with check-in at 7:30 a.m. The entry fee is $15 and T-shirts are $10. Register online at runsignup.com or in person at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.
