SNOHOMISH — A Mount Vernon man died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 9 near Snohomish Friday morning.
The crash between a car and a pickup truck occurred around 6:25 a.m. just north of U.S. 2.
The Mount Vernon man, 56, was driving the car, a Toyota Echo, and reportedly tried to make a U-turn to avoid traffic congestion, according to the Washington State Patrol. The car then was struck by the truck, a Dodge Ram. The truck driver, a 57-year-old Lake Stevens man, was unhurt.
The deceased was identified by police as Michael J. Holloway.
All lanes of the highway reopened by 10 a.m.
