Decked, a manufacturer of full-sized pickup truck bed storage systems, has announced a partnership with five new dealers in the greater Seattle area including Magic Toyota in Edmonds and 4-Wheel Parts in Lynnwood. Nationwide, 82 new dealers were added to the Decked network of retailers.
Coast|Sperry Van Ness in Everett has arranged a lease for the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the recently-acquired future administration offices of Coastal Community Bank at 5415 Evergreen Way from which FEMA will deploy resources tied to President Barack Obama’s disaster declaration for the Oso landslide. FEMA intends to occupy the office between three to 12 months.
Dave Kleiber, president of the board of Whatcom Counseling and Psychiatric Clinic, has signed a letter of intent to merge the Whatcom County-based company with Compass Health, a behavioral health organization in Everett that serves Snohomish, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties. The expected closing date of the merger is June 30.
Frost Doughnuts announced plans to move to a new location in Mill Creek Town Center in May. The move to 15217 Main Street, Suite 106, across from La Palmera restaurant and next to The Split End Salon will double its current space. Additionally, the location would add a dessert lounge with cupcakes, soft-serve frozen custard, full service coffee bar and more. Frost’s spring launch in the new location will introduce cupcakes in 12 rotating flavors.
Coast|Sperry Van Ness in Everett last month arranged a 20,000-square-foot lease to Snohomish County in the America West Bank Tower on Colby Avenue in Everett. Occupancy is scheduled for July 1.
A campaign to raise funds for social purpose corporation and food hub North 40 has been set up. Contributors are refunded with sponsored gift cards. Cafe Rio Mexican Grill will open a new location at 10:30 a.m. April 16 at 3000 184th St. SW in Lynnwood. This will be the company’s second location in Washington. There are 71 locations nationally. Boomerang in Clinton will change its name to Whidbey Island Printing &Office Supply. By the end of the month, there will be a new website, new email addresses and a new store sign. The current website, www.boomerangpng.com, will redirect traffic to the new website www.wiprinting.com.
The state’s Public Service Recognition Week Celebration Committee is asking the public and fellow employees to nominate recipients for two state awards — the Leadership Award and the Extra Mile Award. The PUD has improved its online EnergyAdvisor tool, a resource to help customers identify ways to save energy and money. Washington Banking Co., the holding company for Whidbey Island Bank, announced that the Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of14 cents per common share to be paid on April 29 to shareholders of record as of April 15. Payment of the quarterly dividend has been accelerated because of the pending merger of the company with Heritage Financial Corp.
The U.S. Small Business Administration is seeking nominations for its annual Tibbetts and Small Business Innovation Research Hall of Fame Awards. The Tibbetts Awards are presented to those small businesses and individuals judged to exemplify the best in the SBIR program. The state Department of Commerce has announced a grant to Snohomish County’s Paine Field to advance environmental permitting efforts and help prepare sites for large-scale manufacturing development. Paine Field will receive $400,000 to conduct environmental review for the approximately 840,000-square-foot Aerospace Business Park planned for the west side of the airport.
Heritage Financial Corporation and Washington Banking Company announced that Glass Lewis &Co. and two independent proxy voting and corporate governance advisory firms recommend that Heritage and Washington Banking shareholders vote to approve the proposed merger agreement at their respective special shareholders’ meetings. The meetings are scheduled for April 14 for Heritage and April 15 for Washington Banking.

Teriyaki Box restaurant owner Mike Youn of Marysville has been honored as Volunteer of the Month by the city of Marysville. Youn, pastor at North Lynnwood Bible Chapel, launched a program that provides free meals to low-income individuals one Saturday a month. An average of 70 people are served on those days.

Union Bank has been named the 2013 Top National Heart Walk Team by the American Heart Association. It is the third time the bank has earned this distinction. Union Bank was also the Top National Heart Walk Team in 2012 and 2010. Bank employees, family, friends and customers collectively raised more than $580,000 during the 2013 campaign.
Kathy Huber has announced her new association with Ticor Title Company as the company’s vice president county manager of Snohomish County. Huber is an industry veteran and a lifelong resident of Snohomish County. Ticor Title is a member of the Fidelity National Financial family of title companies.
The Mountlake Terrace City Council on April 7 appointed the following members to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee: Ayesha Sheikh, Laura Peckinpaugh, Carol Brickel and Carol McMahan. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee makes funding recommendations to the City Council for organizations that promote tourism in Mountlake Terrace.
Carletta McKinney has opened Dakota’s Dog Washing Service in Edmonds. The business is willing to accept so-called “bully breed” dogs, such as pit bulls and Rottweilers, which they say a majority of other groomers will not take. McKinney accepts animal clients based on the individual rather than the breed.
Doug McIalwain has rejoined Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. to head up the operations of its Spokane store and showroom. The company has also appointed Gallagher Marketing Group to represent its five product lines in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Cabinet Savvy Group will represent its five product lines in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
