Felony?
Chadwick, a clarification: it IS NOT a felony to BE IN this country illegally. It is not even a misdemeanor. It is more like an infraction. There's no jail time associated with it, though, of course, you can be deported.

Now, ENTERING this country illegally is a misdemeanor (not a felony), with a penalty of up to one year in jail. But it is very hard to know if someone entered legally and stayed here illegally (not a crime, but a deportable infraction) or if they entered illegally (a misdemeanor).


Jeff Craig: if you want competition -- I do too! -- tell the state legislators and Mike Kreidler to allow more insurance companies to operate in this state! And we should focus on reducing cost of care, not on more regulation that will only give us fewer choices and not reduce cost at all.

And as to compassionate, your ad hominems against Chadwick are not exactly overflowing with kindness ...

Please, get a clue before you post. You can barely hide your racism and xenophobia in your comment. Maybe you had an older sibling that constantly took your toys, and this is how you cope; if so, you have my pity.

As for health care reform - over 47 million uninsured want a change. I have good coverage from my employer, but after trying to get chiropractic and massage therapy (coverage that is included in my plan and very beneficial since I work for the phone company) I find United Healthcare just makes the entire process of finding a provider and getting thru the paperwork incredibly frustrating. I firmly believe that health care insurance reform, if not outright competition, would get UHC off their butts.

So, please, do some research before you show up at tomorrows forum. You wouldn't want to have an embarrassing moment if front of all those people...

Get a clue.. No one wants their health care insurance turn into government welfare healthcare. As for those that "cant afford it" Sell that 42" plasma TV, get rid of the blackberry and get insurance. As for illegals.. it is just that we owe them nothing. They are comitting a felony with a 2 year prison term to be here. Cant say I want to go to where they came from but I am tired of paying my bills and theirs too...
SAY no to nationalizing healthcare.. I guarantee you the senators and president wont be on the plan they screw us with..
