EVERETT — At least five residents were displaced after a fire in an Everett triplex Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Around 1:41 p.m., crews responded to the fire in the 400 block of 45th Street SW, said Everett Fire Department spokesperson Rachael Doniger. At least five residents evacuated before crews arrived. Two cats died, but no residents were injured.
The fire response closed nearby roads.
While crews fought the fire, the roof collapsed, fire officials said.
The Red Cross was assisting the displaced residents. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
