Join citizens patrol
Mill Creek’s police department invite people to sign up for the Citizens Patrol Academy. Training begins April 8.
Volunteers in the program serve as “eyes and ears” for the police department.
The training is on Tuesday and Thursday nights through May. Applicants must be at least 18 and be willing to volunteer for two years. Some physical ability is required. Attendees also must pass a background check.

Celebrate the first day of spring: Take a nature walk at the Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St., Everett, at 10 a.m., March 20.
Zoologist Tom Noland and Naturalist Lori Powlas will introduce the native plants around the Northwest Stream Center and lead the group onto a forest trail next to North Creek.
Along the way, you will learn how to identify different plants and how American Indians used these plants for food, medicine, building materials, clothing, baskets and much more. Fee is $7 for nonmembers, $5 for members.
