EVERETT — One person died in a late-night fire Sunday in south Everett, according to firefighters.
Around 11:30 p.m., the Everett Fire Department responded to multiple calls about a fire coming from one of the units in a four-plex apartment building on the 9800 block of 3rd Avenue SE. It took about 35 minutes to bring the fire under control, according to a news release.
One person died. Their body was taken to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner, who will identify the person and determine the cause of death.
There were no other injuries, according to the release.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
