ARLINGTON — A person was killed when a car struck trees Tuesday along Highway 9, near the Skagit-Snohomish county line.
The black car crashed and rolled into the trees around noon on a rural stretch of the highway about seven miles north of Arlington, Washington State Patrol trooper Heather Axtman said.
Aid crews arrived to find a person dead just south of the Nakashima farm. Troopers believed the person was the driver.
The age and gender of the person was not released.
Troopers were investigating the cause. It appeared the driver was headed north when the car left the road, Axtman said. The vehicle came to a rest on its passenger side, with severe damage.
