WorkSource Snohomish County and the Future of Flight Foundation will host a free aerospace career fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 20, followed by an employer panel from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. at the Future of Flight Aviation Center, 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo. The fair will feature industry employers and educational providers. Human resource professionals will offer critiques of job candidates’ resumes. Attendees should dress ready to interview and bring copies of their resumes. The panel discussion will address what employers look for in employees, provide insight into what it takes to get hired in the aerospace industry, and offer tips on how to ace an industry interview.

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce’s Business Before Hours presents Gary Chandler, Association of Washington Business vice president, with the chamber’s legislative update from 7 to 9 a.m. Feb. 22 in the Canoes Cabaret Room at the Tulalip Resort-Casino, 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd., Tulalip. The Schack Art Center will hold H’Arts 2013, its 31st annual benefit auction starting at 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett. A reception and silent auction will run from 5 to 7 p.m. with hors d’ouevres and beverages. Dinner and live auction run from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $95 for members, $110 for nonmembers.

Verity Credit Union has launched its second Cartwheel for a Cause contest. Washington state residents who are 18 years or older can submit a short video to win $5,000 for the cause of their choice and $1,000 for themselves.

Edmonds Community College and the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce hosts Women Entrepreneurs, WE Mean Business, an annual business network and resource fair. It’s free and open to the public. The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Black Box Theatre at Edmonds Community College, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. This free event focuses on helping educate and encourage women to begin and maintain a business, although all individuals, regardless of gender, are invited. WE Mean Business will feature experts from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Northwest Washington Women’s Business Center and EdCC Business Management instructors on topics that are key to business success: financing, business planning, starting and managing a business, counseling and training, start up, insurance, accounting practices and legal matters. Light dinner and refreshments will be served.

A panel will discuss the economic impact of international students studying in Washington state from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 28 in Everett Community College’s Whitehorse Hall, Room 105, 2000 Tower St., Everett. The panel includes EvCC President David Beyer, Edmonds Community College Vice President of International Education David Cordell, Washington State University Director of Global Services Cheryl Hansen and Kim Lovaas, University of Washington associate director of international services and international admissions. Washington is ranked 11th in the U.S. for the number of international students studying here. International students are important to Washington state’s economy, spending millions during their visits and promoting our region abroad when they return home. The presentation is part of the International Business Roundtable speaker series sponsored by the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle, EvCC and Economic Alliance Snohomish County. The event is free and open to the public.

Zonta Club of Everett will hold its annual celebration of International Women’s Day with a luncheon meeting at noon March 7 at the Everett Golf and Country Club, 1500 52nd St. SE, Everett. Guest speaker Janice Ellis will talk about violence against women in Indian country. Ellis was elected Snohomish County prosecuting attorney and took office on Jan. 1, 2003. She served as prosecuting attorney for the Tulalip Tribes from Dec. 1, 2009, until she was appointed to Snohomish County Superior Court by Gov. Chris Gregoire in December 2011. Ellis has volunteered for Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center board of directors, the YMCA board of trustees and the Deaconess Children’s Services board of directors.

Snohomish County nonprofit Clothes For Kids will hold their third annual Transforming Lives Breakfast on March 14 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. This year’s emcee is Jen Mueller, sports reporter and CEO of Talk Sporty to Me. Last year, the organization provided more than 4,044 wardrobes to low-income children in the County.
