Sites across the county offer overnight shelter during extremely cold weather.
Cold weather shelters usually become operational when forecasted overnight temperatures are 34 degrees or lower. These shelters are managed by community-based organizations, volunteer groups, and faith communities throughout Snohomish County.
Youth ranging from 12 to 17 years old who need shelter can contact 425-877-5171.
For more information, email Tyler Verda, the Snohomish County human services program planner at tyler.verda@snoco.org. While the county Human Services Department can give general information and updates, inquiries pertaining to a particular shelter should be directed to that specific shelter.
For those who don’t need overnight shelter, but need a place to warm up during the day, community libraries are available as daytime warming centers. Please call in advance to confirm operating hours.
