MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Terrace’s Amaya Johnson drove in three runs, walked twice, scored twice and stole a base on a 2-for-2 evening. Charlotte Snook also drove in three with a double and a sacrifice fly for the Hawks (2-0). The Chargers (0-1) were led by two hits apiece from Aaliyah Shafer, Emme Witter and Hannah Worth.
Everett 10, Oak Harbor 6
OAK HARBOR — The Seagulls scored four runs with two out in the seventh and final inning to open their season with a win. Mia Hoekendorf (3-for-5, 3 RBI, one run), Braylon Yarwood (3-for-5, double, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Haylie Oyler (3-for-4, double, triple, walk, 2 runs) led the way for Everett. Hoekendorf, who struck out eight from the pitching circle hit a two-run triple in the seventh to plate the final two runs to put it away for the Seagulls.
Shorewood 8, Lake Washington 7
SHORELINE — Down 7-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Stormays (2-0) reigned with all eight of its runs in the sixth. Rose Gallagher recorded two of her three hits in the inning and drove in the final two runs of the game with a go-ahead, two-run single. Maddie Schilperoort and Lillian Perrault each tallied two hits.
