EVERETT — A 46-year-old Tacoma man is in custody Wednesday after leading police on a chase that began in Mill Creek and ended in Everett.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Mill Creek police attempted to stop the driver wanted for multiple offenses. Upon signaling the vehicle’s driver to stop, the suspect’s vehicle accelerated west to elude the officer, Mill Creek police said. As the vehicle accelerated west on 132nd St. SE, the driver struck two vehicles, causing damage, but no injuries, police said.
The suspect continued to elude officers, and began to travel north on I-5. The driver exited the freeway at exit 195 and turned right onto E. Grand Ave., where the vehicle ultimately crashed into a yard. The suspect fled on foot, and the Mill Creek police deployed its K-9 unit.
After an extensive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, Mill Creek police K-9 Hondo located the suspect, and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for felony and misdemeanor offenses.
This remains an active investigation. People with information about this case should call the Mill Creek Police Department at 425-745-6175.
