The plane used by Rolls-Royce to test its engine for the new Boeing Co. Dreamliner will arrive this afternoon.
Rolls modified a Boeing 747 jet, allowing the engine manufacturer to fly its Trent 1000 engine. Boeing offers 787 customers a choice between Rolls’ Trent 1000 engines and General Electric’s GEnX.
When Boeing rolls out its first 787 this Sunday, the plane will feature the Rolls engines.
The U.K. engine company will show off its flying test bed at theFuture of Flight Aviation Center in Mukilteo the day of the rollout. The plane is scheduled to arrive around 4 p.m. today.
