Shaq’s Big Chicken restaurant coming to Mukilteo this summer

The fast-food chain’s fare is inspired by the NBA great’s home-cooked childhood favorites.

MUKILTEO — Tongues are clucking with the news that Shaquille O’Neal is bringing his fried chicken to Mukilteo.

The basketball Hall of Famer’s Big Chicken restaurant is set to open this summer at 11700 Mukilteo Speedway, in the Harbour Pointe Shopping Center.

The restaurant chain’s website says: “Big Chicken fuses O’Neal’s home-cooked childhood favorites with today’s trending flavors. Each menu item tells a story all while offering guests an inside look into the life and personality of Shaquille O’Neal.”

Photos show jumbo “Shaq Attack” and “Uncle Jerome” fried chicken sandwiches, “Lucille’s Mac n’ Cheese” and “Grandma’s Pudding” towering ice cream sandwiches.

“Eat life to the fullest” is the motto.

The restaurant was founded in 2018 and serves chicken in 10 states.

Two outlets are in Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. A restaurant recently opened in The Landing in Renton.

A location in Shoreline is scheduled for fall 2023.
