2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Award winners announced

Five Snohomish County students take Best of Show honors; an awards ceremony is set for Feb. 9.

Schack Art Center in Everett has announced the regional award winners of the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Presented by the nonprofit organization the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the 100th Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the country’s longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program for creative students in grades 7–12.

In the 28 years that Schack Art Center has been the awards affiliate, over 15,000 students have submitted their work.

This year, nearly 600 teens from across Snohomish County submitted their best art and writing, and more than 200 creative teens received regional honors, including Gold Keys, Silver Keys, Honorable Mention, and American Visions & Voices nominations.

This year’s American Vision Nominees/Best of Show Recipients are: Oliver Adams, Everett High School; Isaac Bundy, Kamiak High School; Ella Johnson, Kamiak High School; Susanna Lee, Lynnwood High School; and Callia Park, Gateway Middle School.

An awards ceremony is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Historic Everett Theatre.
