Everett neighborhood tours: Historic Everett presents a series of five summer neighborhood tours. Walking tours are lead by Everett Library historian David Dilgard and feature a few homes open to the public.

Upcoming tours include an all city bus tour and lunch at the Monte Cristo on Saturday. Reservations are required. Other tours are the Bayside/Northwest neighborhood on July 9; Lowell neighborhood on Aug. 6; Port Gardner/Rucker Hill on Sept. 10.

Garden party and tea: A garden party and tea to benefit South Whidbey Schools Foundation is from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Cultus Bay Nursery, 7568 Cultus Bay Road, Clinton.

Sip tea or wine while enjoying gourmet treats in the garden.

Tickets are $25 and are tax deductible.

Gardens of Merit: The public can wander through some of the finest local gardens during the fifth annual Gardens of Merit tour in Everett.

The tour is set for June 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features seven private gardens chosen for their creativity and beauty.

The tour includes a tea tasting, music and a plant sale at the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens at Legion Memorial Park in Everett.

A raffle for garden items including a cedar glider, glass art and a sculpture will be held at 5 p.m. at the arboretum. Raffle tickets cost $1.

The self-guided tour costs $10. Purchase tickets the day of the tour at the arboretum or in advance at the following businesses: Pacific Stone Co., Everett; J. Matheson Gifts, Everett; Sunnyside Nursery, Marysville; Garden City Floral, Snohomish; and Emery’s Garden, Lynnwood.

Tickets also will be for sale at Everett’s garden art festival, Sorticulture, June 17 and 18 at Legion Park. To order by mail, visit the arboretum’s Web site for printable forms at www.evergreenarboretum.com.

Garden classes: The Center for Urban Horticulture at the University of Washington announces its spring schedule of classes and lectures April through June.
