Homegrown: Brooke Stack attended Cathcart Elementary, Valley View Middle School, the Snohomish Freshmen Campus, Snohomish High School and Glacier Peak High School, all in the Snohomish School District.
Vivid voice: A first soprano, she plans to study music at Boise State University next fall.
Stage presence: Brooke recently played the role of the mayor’s wife, Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn, in the school’s first major musical, a production of “The Music Man.” She enjoyed the role because it gave her a chance to make the audience laugh. “She was a good character to play,” she said.
Good feeling: Seeing former classmates from Snohomish High School come to support the musical at Glacier Peak “was really cool.”
Hidden talents: “I can yodel, and I can make like a police siren.” She also likes to go swing dancing.
College plans: On going away to college, she said, “I think part of life is exploring and seeing what else is out there. I’m just ready for a new adventure.”
Trailblazers: Brooke likes knowing that she will be part of the first graduating class from Glacier Peak High School.
Having faith: Church is an important part of her life. She also enjoys being part of the school’s “One Voice” club that explores the Bible and worships together, and she likes being involved in other clubs at the school.
Creative soul: She likes art, singing jazz and being part of the yearbook staff. Mainly, she has always liked being creative. “When I was little, I would go out on the swings, and I would close my eyes and swing and make up my own songs.”
Finding time: With school, music, a job at an ice cream shop, Brooke has been plenty busy. She played other sports into high school but only had time to squeeze in golf her senior year. Despite a hectic schedule, she has been finding time to learn to play the guitar. “I just thought to myself, ‘I’m going to do that for me.’”
