Do you love the Dude?
The Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon presents Dudestock 2016 (for people age 21 and older) at 7 p.m. June 18 at the theater, 712 S. First St.
Dudestock celebrates all things related to the Coen brothers’ 1998 cult flick favorite “The Big Lebowski” starring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman and Julianne Moore. “The Dude” Lebowski, mistaken for a millionaire also by the name of Lebowski, seeks restitution for his ruined rug and enlists his bowling buddies to help get it.
Fans of the film (known as “Achievers”) come from far and wide to drink White Russians, listen to Creedence and party with an array of Dudes, Walters and Maudes.
Attend in your bathrobe. Arrive early for leisure game competitions and Wii Bowling on the big screen.
Prizes will be awarded for best costume in several categories.
And if you want to enjoy your White Russian or another cold beverage while watching the movie, no problemo.
Tickets are $10 in advance at www@lincolntheatre.org or by calling 360-336-8955, and $15 at the door.
Fremont Solstice: With its famous free-spirited nude cyclists, the Fremont Solstice parade begins at 3 p.m. June 18 at the Center of the Universe, at least Seattle’s universe. Hey Marseille performs in the evening on the main stage. More at fremontsolstice.com.
