GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Damage is estimated at more than $100,000 from rioting at the Rogue Valley Youth Correctional Facility.
Superintendent Ken Jerin told the Grants Pass Daily Courier computers and furniture were trashed.
Jerin said about nine students involved in the incident have been moved out. They may face charges of riot and criminal mischief.
Rioters barricaded themselves in a day room Oct. 6 at the Grants Pass prison. They surrendered after police SWAT teams arrived.
